For the last 45 years, Peterhead Pantomime Group have put on an annual performance to the local people of Peterhead. Originally starting with performing over a single weekend, we now stage 12 sell out performances over the course of the 10 day run in early December in front of over 3400 members of audience.
Auditions for cast are in August each year and consist of chorus (Primary 5 upwards) and principal cast (16+). Keep an eye on our Facebook page over the summer for audition information!
Our group consists entirely of volunteers who dedicate their time all year round planning for the show in December with preparations starting as early as February - Panto isn't just for Christmas!
Theatre closed due to pandemic restrictions
We celebrated our 40th anniversary online due to pandemic restrictions with a weeks worth of free online entertainment from our creative team.
Originally formed under the 'Community Development Group' section of Aberdeenshire Council, Peterhead Pantomime Group have been putting on an annual production to the town of Peterhead since 1980. Fast forward to 2015, the 'CDG' was being disbanded by the council, so we then formed as an independent non-profit making organisation to continue our annual performance to the town.
In 2024, our charitable status application to OSCR was successful to officially form as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) further highlighting our commitment to the development of the local theatre and panto within Peterhead.
Each year we invite local companies advertise in our souvenir programme which is on sale to over 3000 members of audience over the course of our show-run in December. If this is of interest, please get in touch!
We’d love to hear from you.
